Burnt smell and discolored feed wire 04 VW Beetle
by alexandermark1994 on May 24 2017, 5:40 PMCustomer’s 2004 VW Beetle in with a no start, found low alternator output, replaced alternator & regulator, test drive car, notice a burnt smell and discolored feed wire at the junction box at the battery. Still can’t figure out what is wrong.

Have you checked the connector at the alternator and where the wire is burnt is probably where the problem started. If so, clean and check the wire connection and retest the system for proper output.
