Catalytic converter cleaners?

We have customers that have to pass emissions in order to get their license plate renewed; when they come in with codes for the converters it can be EXPENSIVE! I have seen different brands of cleaners and fuel treatments. Has anyone had any luck with any of them?

We use BG intake cleaning kit. It usually works to get the vehicle to pass emissions but the light will come on shortly after.

Lubri-Moly has a 2 part cleaner that works great

we use the lubri-moly cleaner for particulate filters and it works well...

CRC has a guarantee to pass or Double your money back. You may want to recommend that.

I Have been using Cataclean by Mr. Gasket. So far it has gotten one car through the test lane. I keep the other suggested products in mind for the future!

Have used BlueChem's catalytic converter cleaner several times. If the converter is failing slightly, It has kept the light off for as much as a year. On the cases that the converter was doing very little, the results were marginal at best. My opinion is that if someone just needs to pass emissions, it may be an option. It is a very short term option. Do not offer any guarantees.

Not on an OBD II vehicle but I've used the crc guaranteed to pass on a vehicle that needed to pass the sniffer test. It brought the N0x down quite a bit and worked. Its essentially just denatured alcohol. Have not tried any other products though.
